Crescent Solitaire consists of only two types of piles which are:
The Tableau: These are the main 16 piles that make up the main playing table. Each pile consists of 6 cards which are placed face up.
The Foundations: These are the 8 piles above the 16 tableau piles. There are two types of foundation piles, Aces Foundation and King Foundation.
Aces Foundations: These are 4 foundations piles, each of which contains a single Ace. All the 4 Aces Foundation Piles contain 1 Ace from each suit i.e Diamond, Hearts, Clubs, and Spades.
Kings Foundations: These are 4 foundations piles, each of which contains a single King. All the 4 Kings Foundation Piles contain 1 King from each suit i.e Diamond, Hearts, Clubs, and Spades.
Crescent Solitaire is played using 2 decks of cards or a total of 104 cards. The tableau is made up of 16 piles with each pile having 6 cards, all of the cards are placed face-up. The remaining 8 cards make up the foundation piles. An Ace and a King from each suit are removed and placed in the foundations.
The objective of the game is to win it by building the suits in proper order on the foundations. You have to build the suits from aces up to the kings and from kings down to aces on the respective foundation piles.
Moving Cards Around the Tableau: The cards can only be moved around the tableau if they are of the same suit and there is a difference of one rank between the cards. For example, you can move a 7 Hearts onto an 8 of Hearts or you can move an 8 Hearts onto a 7 of Hearts but you cannot move a 7 Hearts onto an 8 of Diamonds or Spades.
Moving Cards frown the Tableau to the Foundations: As the objective of the game is to build the suits from Aces to Kings on the Aces Foundation Piles and from Kings down to the Aces on the Kings Foundation Piles, you can move the cards from the tableau onto the Aces Foundation Piles in ascending order i.e Ace, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King and from the Tableau onto the Kings Foundation Piles in a descending order i.e King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, Ace.
One Card at a time: Only one card can be moved around the tableau at a time. You cannot move more than one card or sequence together.
Unlimited Undos: You can undo your already made moves as many times as you want to. The game has no limitation over the times that you can undo your moves. Each undo, however, counts as a new move.
